TMU offers positions to students with a desire to gain leadership experience while forming lasting relationships with residents. Both Residence Life Staff positions provide opportunities for ministry on campus. Christian Life Coordinators (CLCs) work to create campus wide events to help residents connect with one another, while Resident Assistants (RAs) work within their individual dorms, helping residents to get the most out of their TMU experience.
Christian Life Coordinators
Christian Life Coordinators (CLCs) are active representatives of TMU to both current and prospective students. With a continual opportunity for ministry, CLCs contribute to the overall purpose of each residence hall as well as the collective campus by providing spiritual support and assisting in the planning and implementation of student activities. Duties also include assisting the Admissions Office as needed and working an average of 5 hours per week in the Student Center.
Student Services Assistants
Student Services Assistants will work anywhere from 10-20 hours per week making phone calls, filing, entering data and doing other clerical work in Student Services as well as Admissions. The position’s pay is hourly.
Resident Assistants are representatives of the college that facilitate the community of their residence halls as well as enforce the policies of TMU in their respective dorms. Responsibilities include planning hall programs, sitting duty in the residence halls, checking residents in and out of dorm rooms, completing paper work, responding to emergencies, and building relationships with their residents. RAs are also required to attend residence life training during the summer.
Please contact the Office of Student Development if you have any questions about any of these opportunities.
