The University offers full-time employees to participate in a managed individual healthcare plan through Remodel Health. Contact the Human Resources office for more details.

Cafeteria Plan Insurance Options

 The University provides the following insurance benefits to each full-time employee.  The monthly cost to the employee is determined by the plan and type of coverage chosen.  Employees are to enroll in these programs within thirty (30) days of beginning employment and reenroll at annual enrollment.  Coverage under the insurance program begins on the first (1st) day of employment.

  • Dental Insurance
  • Vision Insurance
  • Life Insurance

Employees may purchase (pre-tax) family coverage under the dental or vision plans as a benefit through the cafeteria plan.

Additionally, the University pays 100% of the cost of premiums for Long-Term Disability Insurance for all full-time employees of the institution.

Other Cafeteria Plan Options:

  • Employees may voluntarily purchase individual cancer policies from AFLAC on a pre-tax basis.
  • Employees may voluntarily deposit payroll deductions into a Flexible Spending Account or a Health Savings Account

Retirement

All Full-time and Part-time Employees working 1,040 hours (20 hours per week on an annual basis) are eligible to participate in TMU’s retirement plan. Beginning one year from the date of hire date, TMU will contribute a percentage of the employee’s annualized base salary (includes housing allowances for ministers) to the University’s 403(b) tax sheltered annuity administered by GuideStone Financial Resources of the Southern Baptist Convention. Beginning on the hire date, the employee has the option to complete a salary reduction agreement to withhold an amount or percentage from his/her pay. Tuition Remission

All full-time faculty & staff and their dependents (defined by the IRS) are eligible to receive tuition remission to take courses at TMU. Those enrolling must file all financial aid paperwork to be eligible for Tuition Remission. See Policy Manual for details.

Tallulah Falls School Partnership

 Tallulah Falls School and Truett McConnell University have formed a partnership to support students throughout their education. This program will provide tuition discounts and more for children of full-time Truett McConnell University faculty and staff. Please contact the Human Resources office for full details of this benefit.

Dining Hall Privileges

Employees of the University may purchase meals in the dining hall for themselves at a reduced rate per meal.

Student Wellness Center Benefit

Full time employees and immediate family members (Parents & Children) are given free membership privileges to the Student Wellness Center.  Amenities included at the Wellness Center are:

  • 50 Meter Lap Pool

  • Locker Rooms

The President may choose, at his discretion, to close offices for various days throughout the year. These days will be announced in advance.

Work Week

The work week for administrative employees is Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. until 4:30 p.m.
