The Clarkston Refugee Team
Led by Clarkston Leadership Team
This team is currently partnered with Clarkston International Bible Church and World Relief to send TMU students as relational volunteers to help meet the needs of refugees from around the world while building relationships with them for the sake of sharing the good news of Jesus with them. Our hope is that students will adopt various refugee families from unreached nations and see them come to Christ.
Anti-Human Trafficking Team
Led by Emma McGee
Manumission is a ministry team focused on reaching the victims of human trafficking with the hope and freedom found in Jesus Christ. This team meets for prayer every week to lift up the victim as well as the perpetrators of trafficking both locally and worldwide. They also participate in monthly outreach activities alongside local ministry partners from Athens and Atlanta who are fighting this injustice on the front lines.
Homeless Outreach Team
Led by Cameron Lee
The Homeless Outreach team is seeking to minister to the homeless community in Cleveland, Athens, and Atlanta. The heartbeat of this team is to listen to the stories of people impacted by homelessness, share the story of Jesus with them while also seeing that their basic and immediate needs are met in a sustainable way.
Trekking Outreach Team
Led by Megan Burke
This team is reaching out to hikers and trekkers in North Georgia and on the Appalachian Trail. The team’s goal is to serve people, build relationships with them, and have intentional spiritual conversations along the way!
Young Scholars Ministry
Led by Maryssa Dillard and Raegan Davidson
Young Scholars is an after-school tutoring program in White County that is working to assist young students with their studies while also sharing the gospel with them and their families through Bible study and storying.
Nursing Home Ministry
Led by Carlisle Faulk and Mallorie Keel
The Nursing Home ministry helps to serve local nursing homes by bringing encouragement and the gospel to the residents and workers in each location.
Led by Sydney Beach
EMBRACE is serving the students, faculty, and staff of Truett McConnell through intentional encouragement, fundraising assistance for mission trips, and the facilitation of organic, missional community on campus.
Foster Care Ministry
Led by Bree Samples
The Foster Care Team minsters to both the children in the foster care system of Georgia as well as the families who choose to serve through fostering in their home. This ministry can look like anything from watching children to raking leaves for a family. These acts of love and service are opening doors for the gospel to be shared with both the foster children and the foster families.
Led by Jacob Parrish
The CHOA ministry team works alongside a local ministry in Atlanta that is reaching out to children suffering from cancer. Their main location for outreach is Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta. While there, they meet with the families and do their best to encourage them. The team also has the chance to meet with, pray with, and sometimes even play with the children who are suffering through cancer. They are able to shine a light for Christ by simply being there during such a hard season for so many families.
