Cleveland, Georgia – Truett McConnell University (TMU) proudly announces significant enhancements to its Walpot School of Education, introducing Mrs. Taylor Gilleland as the new Chair alongside esteemed educators Mrs. Staci Ward, Mrs. Susan Sargent, and Dr. Bruce Wilkerson.

Mrs. Taylor Gilleland assumes the role of Chair with a profound dedication to TMU’s mission, committed to fostering the school’s growth and maintaining its commitment to delivering a high-quality, biblically centered education. Mrs. Gilleland’s vision focuses on equipping future educators to integrate faith into educational settings, thereby fulfilling the great commission.

Mrs. Staci Ward joins TMU as a lecturer, bringing 30 years of invaluable experience from her tenure as a teacher and principal in the White County School system. Mrs. Ward is enthusiastic about the opportunity to mentor future teachers at TMU.

Mrs. Susan Sargent, recently retired after over three decades in the classroom, enriches the faculty with her extensive knowledge. “I am excited about the opportunity to impart my knowledge and experience to the next generation of educators,” Mrs. Sargent states.

Dr. Bruce Wilkerson also joins TMU as a lecturer. He retired as a principal in 2018, after serving as a teacher, instructional coach, and assistant principal. He brings a wealth of knowledge and experience in the areas of curriculum and assessment.
