Cleveland, GA On April 16, TMU’s Walpot School of Education proudly held its annual Teacher Pinning Ceremony, a meaningful tradition that marks the beginning of a career and a commitment to a calling. During the event, TMU welcomed 20 new students into the education program, each stepping forward with a shared calling to serve, lead, and inspire through investing in students.

“The pinning ceremony symbolizes more than entry into a program; it represents a dedication to the profession of teaching and the responsibility that comes with shaping future generations. Surrounded by faculty, family, and peers, our newest cohort was recognized for their decision to pursue a path grounded in service, integrity, and lifelong learning,” shared Mrs. Taylor Gilleland, Chair of the School of Education. “We are honored to walk alongside these students as they begin their journey.”

The rising education class heard a word of encouragement from Mr. Jake Lee, a recent graduate from the School of Education. He reminded students that their work would be difficult, but in it there would be great reward as they invest in the lives of others.

The passion and purpose of the School of Education’s Class of ’28 gives TMU great confidence in the future of education. TMU looks with great expectation to the impact they will make in the years to come, both in the classroom and in the communities they serve.
