CLEVELAND, Ga., (TMNews) – Religious Liberty is at the heart of the Anabaptist vision from which Truett-McConnell College is led. Todd Starnes, an acclaimed reporter and author, will speak at the second annual H. Ray Newman Ethics and Religious Liberty Lecture Series in January where he will focus on current cultural dilemmas faced by Christians and Christian Organizations.

“It goes without saying that we live in tumultuous times where there are few voices that seem to represent Christ and a biblical worldview,” said TMC’s President, Dr. Emir Caner. “How thankful I am for the prophetic and powerful voice of Fox News host Todd Starnes.”

Starnes, a host on Fox News Radio & Commentary, is known for discussing major topics on FOX News television and in his syndicated column for FoxNews.com. He has been recognized for his work as a journalist by receiving achievement awards such as the RTNDA Edward R. Murrow Award, an Associated Press Mark Twain Award and the National Religious Broadcasters Board of Director’s Award.

In 2014, Starnes brought national recognition to the religious liberty encroachments of the Houston Mayor who commandeered five pastors’ sermons to approve its content. Starnes will speak to Truett-McConnell about the importance of standing for God’s word and the right to express religious freedoms without intrusion.

“His commentary cuts through the haze of cultural confusion and speaks directly to the heart of issues dearest to Christians, including Baptists.” Caner said. “There is no more important issue for our day than religious liberty – the freedom to exercise our beliefs without any encumbrance – and there is not a clearer voice on the issue than Todd Starnes. You will not want to miss this event.”

TMC welcomes all to attend this special service on Thursday, January 22 at 9:30am in the school gym (Bear Cave). For more info about chapel services, visit truett.edu; to learn more about Todd Starnes, visit radio.foxnews.com.
