Cleveland, GA (January 26, 2011) – Truett-McConnell College is excited to welcome Dr. Charles Edward (“Ed”) Ford to our campus faculty. Dr. Ford is a professor of mathematics and TMC anticipates seeing how God will use him on our campus.

Dr. Ford received a bachelor of science in mathematics from Virginia Tech University and also minored in computer science and statistics. He also received a master of science in mathematics from Virginia Tech University and then worked on doctoral works in applied mathematics in Purdue University from 1974-1977. Dr. Ford decided to complete another masters, this time in religion. He graduated with a master of arts in religion from Liberty Baptist Theological Seminary and then a doctor of ministry also from Liberty Baptist Theological Seminary.

Dr. Ford has had numerous experience teaching. He served as a graduate assistant mathematics instructor in Purdue University and as a mathematician, computer scientist, and senior software engineer at Oak Ridge National Laboratory. He also served as an assistant professor of mathematics at Liberty University and as a software engineer at First Data Resources, both in Lynchburg, Virginia. He went on to be a senior software design engineer at Allen Telecom Systems in Lynchburg and then transferred to be an adjunct instructor in mathematics and computer science at Longwood University.  In August 2007 to December 2008, he served as a teaching fellow and adjunct instructor in mathematics at the University of Virginia’s College at Wise and then as an adjunct instructor in computer science at Mountain Empire Community College in Big Stone Gap, Virginia from June 2010.

The professor also served as a pastor at Worsham Baptist Church in Farmville, VA from March 1998 to April 2006 and at Ridgeview Baptist Church in Wise, VA from May 2006 to August 2007.

Dr. Brad Reynolds, vice president of academic services, is excited about the arrival of Dr. Ford.
