Truett-McConnell College’s Music and Fine Arts Division presented its Fall Choral Concert on Thursday, November 19, 2009, at Bethlehem Baptist Church in Clarkesville, Georgia. The Music Department chairman, Dr. John Davis, conducted the choir, and Dr. Jose Garcia accompanied for the evening. The concert featured many well-known composers, including Giovanni Pierluigi Da Palestrina, Mark Hayes, Rene Clausen, and Dominick Argento.
The Northeast Georgia Children’s Choir, directed by Ms. Amber Whatley and accompanied by Ms. Anna Davis, also performed a couple of selections. To provide scriptural context and introduce the more difficult choral selections, Mr. Jonathan Morris read related Bible passages. Overall, the evening was filled with beautiful singing, and God was glorified.
