CLEVELAND, Ga. (TMCNews) — Truett-McConnell College is distributing more than just candy Oct. 31 at its annual Treats @ Truett event, Oct. 31.

Partnering with LifeSouth Community Blood Centers and Public Safety Christmas for Kids, TMC officials want to meet the physical and material needs of the community.

LifeSouth Community Blood Centers will be on the campus from 6 – 9 p.m., ready for Treats @ Truett participants to donate blood. LifeSouth supplies local hospitals with the blood needed to save lives.

Treats @ Truett attendees can make a difference in the life of an impoverished child by bringing canned or other non-perishable foods to the Public Safety Christmas for Kids Food and Toy Drive. An amalgam of several charitable groups in the area, Public Safety Christmas for Kids began five years ago, and last year served almost 300 children and nearly 50 senior citizens.

Attended by more than 3,000 people last year, Treats @ Truett remains a free Halloween alternative for White County residents. Families may enjoy trick-or-treating, hayrides, carnival games, and much more.

Truett-McConnell College offers heartfelt thanks to the following sponsors who make Treats @ Truett possible: the Cleveland Police and Fire Departments, the Bridge Church, Ingles Markets, Fred’s, White County Rotary Club, Ma Gooch’s Restaurant, Cleveland Winnelson Company, Cleveland Family Dentistry, Creekside Deli, Sautee Service Express, Deb’s Dollar Discount, Mt. Yonah Baptist Church, Helen First Baptist Church, and First Baptist Church of Cleveland.
