On Thursday, November 5, 2009 members of the Truett-McConnell Softball team participated in a community service project. They helped clean up a local woman’s yard where trash had been deposited over a period of time. This service helped to give the woman peace about the environment in which she lived. The activities also reminded the players of how fortunate they are and how they should not take things for granted.

This project helped bring our team together while showing them the conditions in which some individuals live. I think it really opened their eyes about the importance of getting a good education and appreciating the simple things in life. Next week we will be visiting Friendship Health Care Center, a local nursing home. The players are excited about spending time with people in the community and being servant leaders for Christ through these projects.

If you are in need of help in the Cleveland area please contact head softball coach Jenni Deitz at 706-865-2134 x149 or at jdeitz@truett.edu.
