Bears Shine in GA/FL All-Star Game

The great 2008-09 season for the Truett-McConnell Bears was recognized with awards this week as many of the sophomores. Duce Jackson, who had already been selected all-region 2nd team, received the nod for an All-Star selection in the Georgia/Florida JUCO All-Star Game. Duce was not the only Bear represented in All-Star game, as Will Kenimer and Meau Jones were also selected.
The all-star game took place this past weekend in Daytona FL. It felt different playing with guys we usually play against” Duce Jackson said of the game.
Also, Josh Williams was named to the All-GJCAA Tournament team. Josh averaged 10 rebounds, 3 blocks, and 18 points in the two games played in the GJCAA conference tournament.
“We had 8 sophomores on this team and each one of them was a huge part in us making it to the semi-finals and winning 17 games. Some guys win awards, but each guy has a hand in winning the games” Coach Baldwin said of the season.
