CLEVELAND, Ga. – Truett McConnell University’s (TMU) 2018 commencement ceremony will be held for the first time in the George Blaurock Student Wellness Center (SWC) on Saturday, May 12th at 10 a.m.

Todd Starnes, American conservative columnist, commentator for Fox News television and syndicated talk radio host for Fox News Radio will give the commencement speech to the class of 2018.

President Emir Caner stated, “We are delighted not only to welcome our partner, Todd Starnes, back to campus to address the class of 2018, but also to award 113 undergraduate as well as nine graduate students.”

The conservative speaker, who recently spoke at the university’s Faith and Freedom Celebration, is heard on nearly 500 radio stations as host of “Fox News & Commentary” and author of four books including his 2017 release, The Deplorables’ Guide to Making America Great Again.

He has covered major stories of the past decade, from presidential campaigns to the culture wars, interviewing an array of newsmakers and celebrities. His annual Fox Radio Christmas show has become a national yuletide tradition featuring several Contemporary Christian music artists.

Starnes is a recipient of multiple awards including the regional Edward R. Murrow Award and the Associated Press Mark Twain Award.

The commencement ceremony will be held in the SWC gymnasium and is open to friends and family of TMU and 2018 graduates. Doors will open at 9 a.m.
