Bears Garner More Year End Season Honors 
2008-09 Sophomore Class and Families
    

     The Georgia Basketball Coaches Association (GABCA) announced its’ end of the year awards today and TMC had numerous guys honored. The GABCA separates its’ awards by Division I, Division II, and NAIA/JUCO.
     TMC’s Duce Jackson received All-State NAIA/JUCO First Team recognition. Duce averaged 13 points a game, 4.4 assists a game, and 1.5 steals a game. Duce also shot 81% from the free throw line. Duce has now been named GJCAA All-Region 2nd Team, Georgia/Florida All-Star, and GABCA All-State. “I think Duce grew a lot in the two years with us and it is great to see him get recognized for his improvements” Coach Baldwin said of Duce Jackson.
     TMC also had Josh Williams and Meau Jones receive GABCA Honorable Mention All-State. Josh averaged 9 points a game, 2.7 blocks a game, and 7 rebounds a game.   Josh adds this honor to his trophy case with his GJCAA All-Tournament Team selection. Meau average 11 points a game and 9 rebounds a game. Meau battled through many injuries to have a great year. Meau adds this honor to go along with his Georgia/Florida All-Star selection. “Both of these guys controlled the paint for us this season. We were only out-rebounded 2 games this entire season. Plus, Josh was in the top twenty in nation in blocks” Coach Baldwin said of Josh and Meau.
     TMC finished out their GABCA awards with Jesse Norton, Meau Jones, and Will Kenimer receiving GABCA All-Academic Honors.   “I am most proud of these three young men. All three of these young men are leaders on the court and in the classroom and that is what made this year’s team successful” Coach Baldwin said of the Academic honor.
     TMC finished the season with a 17-15 record and a total of 38-26 record during these young men’s time here at TMC. That is an average of 19 wins a season.
