Dr. Emir Caner welcomed the students and faculty to The Bridge Church for the first chapel service of the 2009-2010 academic year at Truett-McConnell College. Dr. Caner’s message “A Victorious Warrior or a Defeated Foe” from 1 John 5:1-5 asked the question “Do you love God because you have to or do you love God because you want to?”. His message spoke of having a transformed mind, a transformed heart and a transformed life.
He emphasized that if we believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, we already have victory. “A victorious faith is not ultimately based on your experience, a victorious faith is not ultimately based your mind, a victorious faith is ultimately based in the Lord Jesus Christ, his sinless life, his sacrificial death and his resurection. You who believe in the Lord Jesus Christ and surrendered your life to him, already have victory.”
