With an enrollment of 751 current students, Truett-McConnell College has increased its enrollment by 62% since 2008.

Under the direction of the President, Dr. Emir Caner, the college equips students with a “Biblically centered and distinctively Baptist” worldview.  Over the past two years, the school, which now hosts a faculty of which more than 70 percent have their doctorates in their respective field, has also inaugurated a Creation Research Center under the leadership of Harvard-trained paleontologist Dr. Kurt Wise and a World Mission Center, under the leadership of missiologist and well known author Dr. H. Edward Pruitt.

Truett-McConnell’s growth is not just in student population. This year, the college added a bachelor of arts in world missions degree, which has attracted a pioneer class of 30 students for the fall semester. During the past year, the college has seen nearly 100 TMC students and friends travel on international mission trips.

Truett-McConnell College has also added degrees in Business (with programs in management, management accounting, sports management, and marketing) and music education.

Truett Online, a program that offers students the opportunity to earn a degree completely online, began in the spring of 2009 and now offers students the opportunity to earn a degree in business or Christian studies. Truett Online has specifically reached out to bi-vocational pastors, as well as laity, to offer an opportunity for them to continue their education.

Over the past two years, the school has fully renovated the President’s Home, an Cleveland Courts apartment complex, and the John L. and Sarah Nix Student Center. With the limitations of their current infrastructure, a Campus Planning Committee has been formed and new buildings could soon be underway.

Truett-McConnell competes as a four-year institution in the NAIA (National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics) and the NCCAA (National Christian Colleges Athletic Association). Additionally, the athletic department is beginning to field junior varsity squads such as the JV men’s basketball team; set to begin this season.

Reflecting on the growth at Truett-McConnell, the director of admissions, Andrew Gailey, states, “God continues to bless what is happening at TMC, and the enrollment increase from last year is only a testimony to that. I believe this is only the beginning of several years of growth for TMC, and I pray that God continues to honor the stance and path that we have taken.“
