The president of Truett-McConnell College, Dr. Emir Caner, has unashamedly been vocal about his desire to reach the world for Christ.  Caner may be on the fast track to making his vision a reality.

Earlier this year Truett-McConnell established a World Missions Center and named missiologist H. Edward Pruitt as founding director.  Pruitt arrived on campus on August 1 and began working to expand Truett-McConnell’s missions program.

On August 14, 2009, TMC’s faculty approved the expansion of the bachelor’s degree offerings to include a Bachelor of Arts in Christian Studies with a concentration in missions.  Additionally, the faculty approved expanding the school’s missions thrust to include a minor in missions to be open to all Truett-McConnell students, regardless of their major field of study.  These curriculum options are designed to equip those with a heart for missions to communicate the Gospel of Christ effectively in a global context.

The two curriculum options are approved and available during the current semester.  Pruitt begins teaching this fall semester and is eager to assist Truett-McConnell students in their desire to engage the world through missions.
