Cleveland, GA – The Annual School of Business Networking Event, held on September 30th, boasted the highest student attendance in the event’s history. Over 130 students came alongside 25 business partners and advisors and were joined by 10 members of TMU’s faculty and staff. Students had the opportunity to network with professionals, learn about job opportunities, and apply the practical business skills that they are learning. Students left, inspired to continue in their calling, and grateful for the opportunity to connect with those already in the field.
“Just an incredible night engaging with our business students and corporate partners. TMU’s School of Business continues to lead by connecting students with local businesses and thus generating internship, mentorship, and employment opportunities,” stated Dr. Stacy Hall, Vice President for Advancement, “I’m grateful for the dozens of corporate partners that work so closely with our School of Business to help us ensure our graduates are not only prepared to succeed in their profession, but are also prepared to lead.”
Students were able to mingle with professionals who have seen decades of changes in the business world and with those who are only just a few years ahead of them. Opportunities for internships and further connections opened up as the evening progressed.
Aiden Van Laar, a senior majoring in business administration with a concentration in cybersecurity, was pleasantly surprised to see more representatives from the area of business he plans to work in. “I think the most important thing that stood out to me was the larger presence of cybersecurity personnel and businesses compared to previous years,” he shared, “It shows how much of an important and growing field it is, while being full of opportunities.”
Nathan Bowen, a junior majoring in business administration with a concentration in nonprofit management, stated, “I had an absolute blast at the TMU Networking Event, meeting different business professionals and learning about the vast array of job opportunities in the surrounding area.”
The relationships built at this year’s Networking Event can signify turning points in the lives of TMU’s students and provide connections that last far into the future. For more information on TMU’s School of Business, visit https://truett.edu/academics/schools/business/
