Ethan Jackson, an Accel student at Truett-McConnell College, medaled in several events at the USA Canoe/Kayak Nationals on Saturday, August 28. He is a member of the Lanier Kayak/Canoe Club based in Gainesville, GA.

 Along with his teammates, Jackson won gold in the four-man K4 1000 meter race, silver  in the two-man K2 5000 meter and the K2 200 meter races, and bronze in the two-man K2 1000 meter race. Jackson also competed individually, winning bronze in the solo K1 200 meter race. When asked about his Olympic hopes, he calmly stated, “That’s the next step.” 

Jackson is enrolled in Truett-McConnell College’s Accel program, which is for high school juniors and seniors. The program allows students to receive dual high school and college credit.
