Truett-McConnell College opened the TMC Wellness Center in mid-January 2009. The center, which was established with a generous grant from the Georgia Baptist Health Care Foundation, is located in two rooms recently added to the front of the college gymnasium.

The Wellness Center is open to the public Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM until noon and from 5:00 to 8:00 PM. The membership fee is $150 per year, payable at the time of application.

The center features the newest in cardiovascular equipment (six treadmills, a rowing machine, two elliptical trainers, a stationary bicycle, a

recumbent bicycle and a StairMaster), as well as strength-training equipment (free weights and Nautilus strength-training machines) and stretching equipment (floor mats and bands).

There will not be an attendant on duty in the Wellness Center, so every user must use the equipment at his or her own risk.
Any interested person is invited to visit the college gymnasium to see the new TMC Wellness Center. For information or a membership application, call Wellness Center director Jim Waits at (706) 865-2134, ext. 250.
