CLEVELAND, Ga., (TMNews) – TMC welcomed back students from Christmas break with a “New year, New you” themed social this past Thursday. Students had a great time celebrating the start of 2015 with each other, taking photos with friends at a festive photobooth, sharing their New Year’s resolutions, and enjoying refreshments.
Resolutions for 2015 varied. Some students look forward to what the year holds in regards to their future.

TMC senior Zachariah Smith emphasized, “I want to graduate, get employed, and break 80 on the golf course.” For freshmen like Jared Brooks, however, the goal is a more imminent academic accomplishment. He stated, “I would like to make all A’s in my classes this semester!”

Among other resolutions, several students are seeking to improve their relationship with Christ. Jacob Moore, a Music Education senior, said, “I hope to get in the Word a little bit deeper, to try to understand God more, and to overall try to enjoy my last semester at the ol’ TMC.” Kristen Loy, also a senior, agreed. She added, “My New Year’s resolutions are to grow in my walk with the Lord, to graduate from Truett-McConnell College, to enjoy every day, and to serve the Lord in all that I do.”

Students loved the belated New Year’s celebration, and ended the night with a celebratory breaking of a few pinatas. The night was full of music, fun, and friends, both new and old!
