Cleveland, GA – On March 24th, Dr. Stacy Hall’s “Principles of Marketing” class at Truett McConnell University took a field trip to Truist Park, home of the Atlanta Braves. The visit was hosted by Drew King, Director of Corporate Partnerships for the Atlanta Braves, and Joey Thacker, Senior Executive with Click Partnerships. During the visit, students received in-depth instruction on key marketing topics, including sponsorship inventory, pricing, packaging, sales, and the reasons behind brand investments in sponsorships.

Dr. Stacy Hall, Vice President for Advancement and professor of “Principles of Marketing,” shared her thoughts on the significance of the field trip: “The field trip to Truist Park is a perfect example of how the Hans Hut School of Business integrates real-world experience into our academic programs. My students had the opportunity to learn directly from two industry professionals at the top of their fields – Drew King and Joey Thacker. These experiences allow students to connect classroom instruction with real-world practices, ultimately preparing them for successful careers.”

Jansen Abner, a sophomore business major concentrating in marketing, was particularly impressed by the sponsorship deals tied to the Atlanta Braves. “A major takeaway from this trip was learning that the Quikrete jersey patches for the Atlanta Braves are one of the most expensive sponsorship deals, even more so than the naming rights to Truist Park,” Abner said. “This is because those patches are visible wherever the Braves go – both at home and during away games.”
