CLEVELAND, Ga. (TMNews)–Truett-McConnell College is pleased to note the “Gladys Holcomb and Family Scholarship Endowment Fund” has reached $100,000.

To establish the “Glxadys Holcomb and Family Scholarship Endowment Fund,” Paul Holcomb, trustee of the family’s funds and son of Dr. Paul Holcomb Sr., requested the merger of two other scholarship funds: the “David and Lorene English Memorial Scholarship” and the “Willene Holcomb Scholarship Fund.”

Edna Holcomb, who invested a 30+ year career at Truett-McConnell, is a cousin to Dr. Holcomb.

The newly merged endowment assists students pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree.

“On behalf of our entire Truett-McConnell family, I want to offer my deepest gratitude to the Holcombs,” said Dr. Emir Caner, president of TMC. “These pillars of our community not only have set an example of support for our college, they also have joined hands and hearts with us in the mission and ministry of this institution.”

“The Holcombs generously have affirmed our efforts to both reach and teach the next generation of God’s servants. As our Nursing students fan out across the globe, they will be equipped to heal the body and nurture the soul, and the Holcombs will be part of this endeavor. We cannot thank the Holcomb family enough for supporting Truett-McConnell College and our efforts to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ in Cleveland, in Georgia and around the world.”
