Truett-McConnell College is pleased to announce that Mrs. Jenni Deitz Shepard, the women’s softball coach, was awarded the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) 2010 Coach of Character Award. Mrs. Shepard was chosen as the 2010 Association of Independent Institutions recipient of this award.
This award is given based on the coach’s accomplishments and character in competition and in the community. We are proud of Mrs. Shepard and all that she does to contribute to Truett-McConnell College!
Champions of Character is a nonprofit organization with the mission to change the culture of sports. It seeks to replace the current cycle of cheating, trash talking, taunting and out of control behaviors found in today’s sports culture with integrity, respect, responsibility, sportsmanship, and servant leadership.
