“Induction into Sigma Beta Delta is recognition for years of academic achievement and allows the inductee to be part of an international honor society that provides continued learning along with networking and scholarship opportunities,” said Dr. Stacy Hall, Associate Professor of Business and Program Director of Strategic Partnerships, Advancement, & Career Advisement for the School of Business.

Sigma Beta Delta is an internationally recognized scholastic honor society for students in the fields of business, management, and administration. Membership in Sigma Beta Delta is the highest national recognition a business student can receive at a college with a Sigma Beta Delta chapter. To be eligible for membership, junior and senior students majoring in business must be in the top 20% as defined by cumulative GPA.

The Sigma Beta Delta class of 2023 include: Sabrina Pestana Aguiar, Abigail Akin, Jillian Barrow, Caroline Cheatham, Megan Darden, Abigail Dennis, Erin Dorsey, Saralyn Green, Landon Guthrie, Emma James, Gabriela Latini, Presley Madden, Will Mahnken, Christina Medlin, Anika de la Peña, Caleb Raines, Harrison Ramsey, Zion Schiller, Cory Seitz, Anna Thomas, Haley Vega, Ethan Walker, Stephen Watkins, Lauren Weaver, Joseph Weber II, Ella Weir.

This year, the governing chapter council includes local Chapter President Dr. Stacy Hall and Chapter Vice President Jordan Turner, Assistant Professor of Business at TMU.

“Congratulations to each of our new inductees,” Hall expressed. “This distinguished recognition is emblematic of their years of hard work and scholastic achievement.  I applaud them for their efforts and have no doubt that each of them will be very successful.”

Beginning this fall, the School of Business will host a minimum of one event each semester for Sigma Beta Delta inductees.  Each student will take part in one service project and one strategic learning opportunity (i.e., guest speaker, field trip, etc.).

The Sigma Beta Delta inductees will officially make their pledge at the upcoming ceremony on Saturday, April 22 at 10:00am in Odell Hall. Family and friends are invited to attend the service.
