Cleveland, GA – Truett McConnell University’s College of Health and Life Sciences will host its 2nd Annual Research Symposium on April 30, 2025, in the Harris Athletic Complex.
Students from the Pilgram Marpeck School of STEM, the Rielen and Salmen School of Nursing, and the Leonhard Schiemer School of Psychology and Biblical Counseling will present original research during the event. From 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., more than 40 students will showcase their work through poster presentations in an open-room format. Guests are invited to engage with students, ask questions, and explore the wide range of topics on display.
Following the poster session, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m., eight senior students will deliver oral presentations on their research. Representing Biology, Exercise Science, Nursing, and Psychology, two students from each discipline will compete for a plaque and a prize gift basket.
“Here at TMU, research at the undergraduate level plays a vital role in shaping future leaders and innovators,” said Dr. Rick Austin, Dean of the College of Health and Life Sciences. “By engaging in hands-on inquiry, students hone critical thinking, problem-solving, and collaboration skills, preparing them for advanced study and impactful careers, both for Christ and for their vocational calling. The Research Symposium underscores the importance of providing undergraduates with opportunities to push themselves intellectually and spiritually preparing our students to be the world-changers God has called them to be.”
