Atlanta, GA The 10th Anniversary Nursing Gala, held at First Baptist Atlanta, celebrated the achievements of the nursing school and looked to what is ahead for the program. With around 180 in attendance, donors, guests, students, and faculty celebrated God’s faithfulness.

“Our 10th Anniversary Nursing Gala offered the perfect opportunity to celebrate the Lord’s faithfulness in raising up a generation of nurses who will impact the world with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. We celebrated a faculty and staff that are second to none in loving our students and following the Lord. From the beautiful venue provided by First Baptist Church Atlanta to the God-honoring keynote by renowned pediatric neurosurgeon Dr. Ben Carson, this gala provided the platform to look back with gratitude and look forward with hope,” Dr. Caner wrote of the event.

Vice President of Marketing and Advancement, Dr. Stacy Hall, noted, “Saturday night was an incredible evening that first and foremost honored God, celebrated our nursing students, and showed the value of a Christian education.  This was highlighted by our speaker, Dr. Ben Carson, who embodies the values, principles, and knowledge that our students seek.  I’m grateful for our sponsors and attendees who helped us raise significant funds to purchase new medical training equipment for our school of nursing.”

Chair of the Nursing School, Dr. Heather Ayers, added, “It was an enjoyable evening seeing, firsthand, the support of our nursing students by alumni, donors, and our community partners.  Dr. Ben Carson, and his wife, Candy, were delightful and we were truly blessed to hear of his personal and professional experience witnessing the goodness of God.  We pray the seeds that were planted during our 10th year anniversary celebration bring forth an abundant harvest for the glory of God for generations to come.

Dr. Ben Carson served for almost 30 years as the Director of Pediatric Neurosurgery at Johns Hopkins Children’s Hospital. He has been a pioneer in the field of neurosurgery and has received dozens of awards and honors, including the Presidential Medal of Freedom. He has written 11 books, the most recent of which was given to each person in attendance at the gala.
