Truett McConnell University invites you to our Friends and Family Weekend. This will be a special weekend for students, alumni, faculty, staff, and partners to join us for a variety of exciting activities.

Thursday, March 14, 2024

2:00pm: Women’s Softball vs. Bluefield University

4:00pm: Women’s Softball vs. Bluefield University

5:00–7:30pm: School of Business Alumni/Student Networking Event (LOCATION: Nix Student Center)

6:00pm: Women’s Lacrosse vs. St. Thomas University

Friday, March 15, 2024

1:00pm: TMU Tennis vs. Brevard College

2:00pm – 5:00pm:

Campus Tours: Enjoy a guided driven tour by one of our friendly TMU student ambassadors. Learn the history of TMU and find out why this gem in the mountain foothills is a well-known for it’s beautiful scenery. Tours will begin every 30 minutes from the Nix Student Center. Last tour will leave at 4:30pm.

2:00pm–6:00pm:

◊ Food Trucks: A selection of local food trucks will be on the campus of TMU, near the front lawn, offering a variety of meals, desserts, and other food options for a fee.

◊ Outdoor Games: TMU Student Life will host interactive, family-friendly games for students and guests on the front lawn of campus.

◊ Alumni Gatherings: Our individual schools will be hosting a variety of gatherings throughout the campus on Friday and Saturday. We invite alumni to connect with their specific school to find out more about these events.

3:00pm: Men’s Volleyball vs. Webber International University

3:00pm: School of Music Alumni Gathering – Reception and gathering (LOCATION: Sewell-Plunkett Chapel Foyer; outside, weather permitting)

3:00pm – 5:00pm: College of Life and Health Sciences Alumni Gathering (including School of STEM, School of Nursing, and School of Psychology and Biblical Counseling) (LOCATION: World Missions Center Lobby in Miller Hall)

3:30pm: Violin Recital by TMU’s Instructor in Violin Dr. Jennifer Clyde. (LOCATION: Sewell-Plunkett Chapel)

4:00pm – 5:30pm: The Peter and Gredel Walpot School of Education and The Michael Sattler School of Public Service Meet and Greet. (LOCATION: Odell Hall)

6:00pm: Doors Open to Public for our Standing on Truth night of events. (LOCATION: Student Wellness Center) 

6:15pm: Keynote Speaker: Riley Gaines Women’s rights activist and 12-time All-American Swimmer. **No ticket needed.

7:00pm: Dove-Award and Grammy-nominated Christian band, Sanctus Real, along with sensational acts Unspoken & JJ Weeks perform as part of their UnReal Tour. **No ticket needed.

7:00pm: Men’s Volleyball vs. Talladega College (LOCATION: Harris Athletic Complex)

*Fireworks display to begin immediately after the concert!

**Please note, all events in the Student Wellness Center are FREE, non-ticketed, and open to the public on a first-come-first-serve basis until maximum capacity is reached.

Saturday, March 16, 2024

10:00am: Standing on Truth discussion with Dr. Emir Caner. (LOCATION: Sewell-Plunkett Chapel)

11:00am: Women’s Lacrosse vs. Univ. of Health Sciences & Pharmacy in St. Louis

11:00am – 12:00pm: The Conrad Grebel School of The Humanities Meet and Greet. (LOCATION: Chandler Building)

11:00am–2:00pm:

6:00-8:00pm: Hot Air Balloon Rides for TMU Students on the front lawn of campus.
