A Georgia native, Larry grew up in the communities of the Peach State before earning his Bachelor of Science in Christian Ministry from Shorter University. Larry earned his Master of Divinity in Christian Apologetics from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary and his Ph.D. in Theological Studies with a specialization in Christian Ethics from the same institution. His doctoral research focused on the public theology of Francis Schaeffer.
As Senior Vice President for Business Administration at New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary, Larry has served as the institution’s chief financial and operating officer, providing executive leadership across business operations, enrollment, facilities, human resources, and institutional administration.
Under his stewardship, student-generated revenue increased by more than $2.5 million, endowment investments grew by over $17 million, and the seminary completed more than $14 million in campus renovations.
Before his current role, Larry served as VP for Enrollment at NOBTS and Director of Enrollment at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary.
Larry currently serves as Professor of Ethics at NOBTS, teaching courses in Christian Ethics, Theology of Sexuality and Gender, and Current Ethical Issues at both the graduate and doctoral levels.
Larry approaches this opportunity with humility, gratitude, and a clear sense of calling. He believes TMU’s best days are ahead—and he is eager to work alongside Georgia Baptists to build an institution marked by renewed trust, operational excellence, enrollment growth, and an unwavering commitment to equipping students to fulfill the Great Commission.
Larry has been married to his wife, Stephanie, for 24 years and they have 3 amazing daughters, Anna Kate (20), Abby (18), and Maggie (11). Stephanie is currently the Director of Missions and Ministry to Women at First Baptist Church New Orleans.
