Biography
Dr. Malinda Apanay is a Lecturer in the School of Education, specializing in curriculum and instruction. She holds a PhD in Education: Curriculum and Instruction, an MA in Education, and bachelor’s degrees in Elementary Education and Psychology. Her dissertation examined the effects of prayer on burnout in secondary Christian educators, reflecting her commitment to integrating biblical perspectives with research-based practice.
Dr. Apanay’s experience spans the full K–12 spectrum. She has served as Dean of Academics for a Christian hybrid-model school, worked as a national education consultant, and has taught multiple grade levels from elementary to high school. She is passionate about biblical integration, learner-centered instruction, and coherent curriculum design that equips teachers to serve students with clarity and purpose.
She brings a relational coaching style grounded in practical wisdom, instructional expertise, and a desire to support educators in their calling. Her work centers on helping teachers create meaningful learning experiences that align faith, pedagogy, and sound instructional design.
Beyond her professional roles, Dr. Apanay is happily married to her husband David, enjoys visiting National Parks, aesthetic gardening, and is an enthusiastic cat-lover. Most of all, she loves Jesus.
