Biography

Dr. Black received her B.S. in Biological Science and Psychology from Florida State University with a minor in Chemistry, and her Ph.D. in Neuroscience from Emory University. She has many years of lab experience: Dr. Black characterized a mouse model of ADHD during her time at Florida State University and investigated the function of a protein implicated in Parkinson’s disease risk during her time at Emory University. After completing her Ph.D., Dr. Black taught Biology and Anatomy and Physiology at Blessed Trinity Catholic High School in Roswell, GA for three years. She is new to Truett McConnell University and will be teaching psychology classes as well as developing the neuroscience concentration within the psychology department.
