Breaking Ground

“The groundbreaking of the George Blaurock Student Wellness Center has finally arrived and we couldn’t be any more excited. The transformation of our campus and the expansion of our facilities will allow Truett McConnell to welcome more students who have a heart for the Lord and a call on their lives. As construction gets underway, remember, such a project is not about brick and mortar; it is about preparation and discipleship in raising up a generation of believers who will love the Lord, love His Word, love the Church, and love the lost.”

Tiek Fields

“The SWC is significant because it provides another place for students to hangout and fellowship. I’m really looking forward to opening day when the community and students will be on campus and everyone is excited to see the final product. It’s also going to give the young men on our team passion and energy; just having the ability to play on a new gym will have the guys ready to go each game.”

Zach Smith

“The SWC means growth and is only the beginning phase of what is to come for Truett McConnell. The ‘Rock’ is going to offer students a place to go and study, play, snack and hangout all in one location; this is something we haven’t had up to this point. Students need a place of their own and I know the SWC is going to be ‘the place to be’ on campus, both day and night. I’m excited for the future of TMU.”

Plans

The George Blaurock Student Wellness Center will be the largest capital project ever undertaken in the history of Truett McConnell University. Take a look at the amenities it will afford our students and the surrounding community.

Aquatic Center

The Aquatic Center will be open for recreational swimming, not only for students, faculty, and staff, but for families, infants, toddlers, and children during community swim times. The zero-entry access will provide easy access for all ages.

Swim programs for beginners, intermediate and advanced swimmers along with lifeguard certification classes are planned.

Intramurals

Activities like basketball, volleyball, aerobics, and fitness programs will be available to meet all of our student’s needs.

Aerobics Room

The latest work-out floor exercises and stretching will be available for all ages with classes like Zumba, Zumba-Abs, Hip-Hop, Pilates, and Piloxing.

Fitness Center

The 6,000 sq. ft. Wellness Center will be a holistic approach to health in every dimension, including strength, conditioning, and cardiovascular. Ellipticals, treadmills and free weights will be available with appropriate guidance from a qualified assistant.

Carolanne’s Café

An on-campus restaurant will be available to all campus and community guests during specific hours of operation. This facility will allow for healthy snacks and cool drinks after a work-out, a convenient place to meet with friends between classes or a nice place to stop and visit on your way to surrounding cities.

Racquetball Courts

Two-Racquetball Courts will offer a sense of friendly competition as well as scheduled tournaments for students, alumni, faculty, staff, and community members.

Indoor Track

Running or walking in a comfortable and safe environment will keep you meeting all your fitness goals, regardless of the weather outside.
