Operation Christmas Child Boxes

Get involved with Operation Christmas Child this year! For those of you not familiar with this organization, Operation Christmas Child uses gift-filled shoeboxes to demonstrate God’s love in a tangible way to children in need around the world. This is a great opportunity for our campus to unite while serving others. Our goal is to pack 100 shoeboxes campus wide.

Each TMU residence hall will collect different items now through November 10th. On November 10th, we will have a Shoebox Packing Christmas Party in the Student Center! During the party, we will pack the boxes, write personal letters to the children, and pray over the boxes that we will send out.

There is a large deposit box in each residence hall lobby, so feel free to bring your items there! Here are the supplies that are needed:

Merritt: T-shirts, socks, hats, sunglasses, hair clips, jewelry, watches, flashlights

Otwell: Include items for small children such as: toy cars, yo-yos, jump ropes, balls, toys that light up and make noise

Garrison: (Non-liquid Hygiene Items) toothbrushes, bar soap, combs, washcloths

Sewell: Pens, pencils and sharpeners, crayons, markers, notebooks, paper, solar calculators, coloring and picture books, etc

New Dorm: (Crafts) Make your own items such as hair bows, finger puppets, and friendship bracelets

Cleveland Courts & Twin Springs: Pens, pencils and sharpeners, crayons, markers, notebooks, paper, solar calculators, coloring and picture books, toy cars, yo-yos, jump ropes, balls, toys that light up and make noise.

ITEMS NOT TO INCLUDE: Used or damaged items; war-related items such as toy guns, knives, or military figures; chocolate or food; out-of-date candy; fruit rolls or other fruit snacks; drink mixes (powdered or liquid); liquids or lotions; medications or vitamins; breakable items such as snow globes or glass containers; aerosol cans
