Truett-McConnell College and its new Health Services Student Clinic provide free-of-charge basic health services and medical treatments, and referrals to local healthcare providers.
Located in the Allen House (first floor), the clinic also is a resource for student wellness.
Registered Nurse Julia Bowen — who joined the Truett-McConnell staff this summer as the director of health services — operates the clinic.
Bowen believes God called her to TMC to provide health and wellness services so students can better serve Christ.
“God has created us all in his image” for reaching others for His kingdom, “and in doing that we need to take care of ourselves,” Bowen said. “We need to take care of these bodies that God created for us and help each other live the healthiest we can. I think that we can serve God the greatest when we are healthy.”
Bowen hopes to expand TMC’s health services by partnering with a local physicians’ group.
