Overnight at TMU logoWhat do I need to bring?

Overnight guests will need to bring a pillow, sleeping bag (or twin size extra-long sheets as each student will have a bed), and a towel, as well as any personal items and toiletries. Dress will be casual; however, make sure you have appropriate shoes for playing games, rain, or for getting dirty.

When do I need to be there?

Check in begins at 6:00 p.m. in the Dining Hall on Thursday, March 15 or April 19. The program will begin at 7:00 p.m.

What time does the event end?

The closing session will end at approximately 2:30 p.m. on Friday, March 16 or April 20.

Do I need to attend the whole event?

Yes, please plan to stay for the entirety of the event. Attending only a portion of the event can miss in receiving vital information that is necessary for a smooth transition into the university.

Can I meet with a coach during the event?

There will be no time during the event for a meeting with a coach or professor. It is best to plan those meetings for after the closing session on Friday.

Where will I sleep?

Housing accommodations are only provided for the accepted student. Female students will be housed in one of our female dorms, while male students will be housed in one of our male dorms.  Parents and other guests wishing to attend will need to make separate arrangements. A list of local accommodations is provided for your convenience.

Can I bring a friend?

Yes, but your friend must also be accepted into the university and have registered for the Overnight at TMU event.

Can my parents attend, and what will my parents do during the event?

Following the beginning of the event, any parents choosing to attend will participate in sessions separate from their student that include meetings with Financial Aid and Business offices, a Student Development Informational meeting, and more.

Do I have to have paid the Enrollment Fee?

No, but students who have paid will be entered into one of our many prize drawings.  This year’s prizes are a Macbook Air and a fully furnished dorm room. You can complete the Enrollment Application and pay before you come. That would be a great idea!

What if I am delayed or need to cancel my overnight visit?

Does the event cost?

Yes, there is a $25 registration fee. However, all students in attendance will receive a TMU t-shirt, and can be entered in to the prize drawings for a Macbook Air and a fully furnished dorm room.

How do I register?

Visit Overnight at TMU and select the appropriate link for which event you wish to attend, either in March or April.
