"I am deeply thankful for this new opportunity and am excited to lead an athletic department that is Christ-centered," Hall said. "Our priorities are to be spiritual leaders in all that we do, maintain high academic integrity, compete with character and passion, and to be active role models within our community.

"I believe an important key to our success is through building stronger, deeper, meaningful relationships within White County and the surrounding area," Hall added. "I will be committed to this endeavor."

Chris Eppling, Truett-McConnell's vice president for student services and current athletic director, said he is "thrilled to have Dr. Hall coming on board with our athletic department team. His wealth of knowledge and experience in developing athletic programs is unparalleled.

"Having someone of Dr. Hall's caliber in this role is another example of the blessings of God on our institution. Dr. Hall will take our entire athletic enterprise to a level that will honor the Lord and enhance the academic and athletic experience of our student athletes," said Eppling, who remains as vice president for student services and athletics.

Hall's athletic administration experience includes key positions with the athletic departments of Florida State and Vanderbilt Universities, and the University of Houston.

Hall served as conference vice president for IMG College -- the nation's largest collegiate multimedia, marketing and licensing/brand management company. With a staff of near 80, Hall managed 12 multi-media properties within the Southeastern Conference for schools such as Georgia, Florida, Alabama, and Auburn, and generated in excess of $114 million in annual sales. Prior to his stint in college athletics, Hall coached on the high school level for 5 years.

No stranger to the academic setting, Hall earned a B.S. degree in physical education from East Carolina, a Master's degree in sport management from Georgia Southern, and a Ph.D. in sport administration from Florida State.

Hall is a deacon at Bethlehem Baptist Church; a board director for United Way of Habersham, Banks and Rabun counties; board director for Fellowship of Christian Athletes for Habersham, Stephens and Rabun counties; and is the chair-elect for the White County Chamber of Commerce.

Hall is married to Ivy Copeland Hall, co-founder and executive vice president of Initials, Inc., headquartered in Clarkesville, Ga.
