Truett-McConnell Appoints Vice Presidents

During the summer, Truett-McConnell College welcomed new vice presidents in all four areas of administration.

Dr. Mike Simoneaux assumed duties as the Vice President for Advancement Services, coming to that office from the position of Vice President for Academic Services.  Dr. Simoneaux is well known to the Truett-McConnell community, having first been employed in 1999 as Dean of the Faculty and then moving to Vice President for Academic Services in 2003.  During the 2007-2008 academic year he served the college as its interim president.

His academic credentials include a Bachelor of Music Education from Mississippi College and a Master of Church Music and Doctor of Education in music from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary.  He has served as minister of music in numerous churches and as Dean of the School of Music at Palm Beach Atlantic University for 14 years before moving to Georgia.

His duties as Vice President for Advancement Services include supervision in the areas of fundraising, alumni services, marketing, and college relations.  He works with Edna Holcomb, Director of Advancement Support, and Gail DuVall, Administrative Assistant, in the Advancement Services Office.

Dr. Simoneaux and his wife, Bonnie, live in Cleveland.  They have two adult children and seven grandchildren.

Dr. Bradley D. Reynolds assumed responsibilities as the Vice President for Academic Services on July 1.  Dr. Reynolds works with Cindy Erbele, Administrative Assistant, in the Academic Services Office.  His duties include supervision over the entire academic program of the college, including curriculum, academic records and faculty.

Dr. Reynolds holds a Doctor of Philosophy from the College of William and Mary, with an emphasis in education, specifically centered on policy, planning and leadership. Currently Assistant Professor of Education at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary, where he has taught since 2003, Dr. Reynolds has also served as a church pastor.

He is married to the former April Davis; the couple has two children, Kelton Isaiah and Laith Isaac.  The Reynolds family makes their home in Cleveland.

David C. Armstrong, Sr., was named Vice President for Administrative Services and  Dr. Daniel P. Moosbrugger assumed responsibilities as Vice President for Student Services, both positions effective August 1.

An employee of Truett-McConnell for one year, Moosbrugger has served as Vice President for Administrative Services and has also temporarily assumed the duties of supervisor of the Student Services offices during that time.  On August 1, he moved entirely into the area of Student Services, where he supervises the areas of student activities, residence life, college athletics and admissions.  Armstrong assumed the supervision of the Administrative Services offices, including the college’s business operations, financial aid office, food service and facilities.

Moosbrugger holds a Ph.D. in organizational leadership from Regent University and has a wide and varied background of service in Christian institutions.  He has served in leadership positions in the academic arena for the past ten years at both Southeastern and Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminaries and the Harvest Institute for Biblical Studies.  He has a depth of experience in working with students in various capacities, including coaching, training, teaching, program management and staff supervision.  He and his wife, Bobbi, live in Cleveland and attend Bethlehem Baptist Church in Clarkesville.

Armstrong is a native of Dallas, TX, and a graduate of Texas A & M University with a Bachelor of Business Administration and a Master of Science, both in the major area of accounting.  He also holds two additional master’s degrees—a Master of Divinity and a Master of Theology, both from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. He is presently a candidate in the Doctor of Education program at Southeastern Seminary.

His administrative experience in the area of business comes from his positions as controller, comptroller and assistant comptroller of Southeastern Seminary and his years as a staff accountant with Deloitte & Touche, LLP, in Houston, TX.  He is currently sitting for the CPA exam with an expected completion date of November 2009.

Armstrong and his wife, Stephanie, are the parents of a son, David, Jr., and two daughters, Haley and Eleanor.  They reside in the local area.
